Auckland Domain

The Auckland Domain is the city’s oldest, and one of the largest, park in the city.

Also known simply as ‘The Domain’, the venue for Auckland’s Corporate Challenge is a diverse paradise covering 75 hectares. It features a number of incredible attractions including the Auckland War Memorial Museum and the Wintergardens.

The park has been developed around the cone of the extinct Pukekawa volcano. The volcanic activity contoured the land into a natural amphitheatre, allowing almost 10 hectares of the park to be converted into sports fields. The park’s grandstand is the perfect landmark for the Corporate Challenge backdrop.

Getting There & Parking

A few minutes from Downtown Auckland, the Domain is easy to access via Carlton Gore Road. The surrounding roads provide some areas for potential parking but carpooling is definitely a good idea as Grafton can be busy, especially on a weekday.

Fortunately the Link bus stops at the Domain and the Grafton train station is situated nearby. For more information, go to the Auckland Transport website. As race day comes around, be sure to keep an eye on the website too for any service changes.
